My Professional interest is to become a Film Producer. I will go in dept to explain some of the
various fictions of a film producer. The producer is responsible for
the film project starting from pre-production, to production
until finial post production. A film project has many phases and the
producer is the project manager, ensuring that the project stays in
the attended budget. The Production process is broken down in three
stages. Which are planning, scripting and storyboarding. Production
is the actual shooting and sound recording of the project and Post
Production is everything between production and creating the final
master copy. www.mediacollege.com/glossary/p/production-process.html
The Media college web site explained the importance of financing and
the steps that financing involve which happens before pre-production.
Financing is imperative because this is how the producer gains the
revenues to fund the movie project. Once the project is chosen and
the producer is approved for the proper funding, the next stage would
be to begin to build a team by hiring a screenwriter to write a film
script. The team must next include a director to manage the artistic
vision of the film script. The producer, director and screenwriter
work closely to visually represent the script and its themes focus.
The producer with the advice of the director goes further to hire an
additional time member called a Casting Director. The Casting
Director has to be given a film project spec to let them know what
types of people are needed to fill the casting positions. In order to
find actors and people that would properly support the films purpose
most producers have a master list of Casting Director that fit a
certain criteria. I have placed a link below for more information
regarding casting and crews hiring, to stay on course, the Producer
usually leave the casting calls and casting project up to the Casting
Director and the Film Director.

The work is not done for the Producer;
the producers must next hire an art director, camera crew, and an
editor. A films budget has to include all of these important peoples
compensation for their work and dedication. The most obvious thought
is that all of these steps must be taken before production begins.
Therefore, Film producer must have exceptionally good planning skills
and a general eye for creative process which is also called story
boarding. The craft of film production is not as easy as it may look
after a movies finished product. The idea is that all of these skills
have to be developed and nurtured before a producer can initially be
considered a top notch producer. Most movie producers start their
career as production assistance and work their way up to become top
notch. I plan to get my experience working the set as a script
reader, which can be an entry level position and could potentially
lead to working on my own production. In conclusion, I have found
that hard work pays in a sluggish economy. I also found that there
are jobs in this field and from my research on average a film
producer can make $30,115 - $ 101,842 per year salary.

It has come to my attention that this job requires a persistence of
understanding of unique visual disciplines and the ability to
collaborate with other individuals to form a polished and likable
finished product.
